Pandavas return and there is a war that breaks out. Duryodhana wants to destroy the Pandavas himself.
Dhritarashtra rejoiced when he heard that Krishna was coming, Duryodhana wanted to capture Krishna to hold him as prisoner. Kunti had not seen her sons in 13 years, she wanted them to act soon so that their enemies will be destroyed. Krishna sought out Karna, he told Karna that he was Kunti's first born son. Krishna could not stop the war.

Long ago the earth goddess took the form of a cow and gave her milk to the people of earth, but people were greedy and milked her too much she was in pain. Vishnu promised to teach them a lesson and so he came as Parashurama and Rama and Krishna and taught them a lesson in all of his lifetimes.

Krishna refused to fight, but was Arjuna's charioteer, he saw all of those he knew, and he thought he could not fight this war. Krishna then revealed himself as god to Arjuna, he showed him his bodies and faces beyond counting. He told Arjuna he should be those people's karma for how they had acted.

Millions died from this war. The war lasted 18 days. When Arjuna shot Bhishma eventually both sides stopped fighting, but Bhishma did not die. He yelled that he was thirsty and someone pierced the ground and water came out to quench his thirst. Karna told Kunti he knew she was his mother, and he would spare her other sons and only kill Arjuna so she had five sons still.

Arjuna was the only one of the Pandavas that would be fought by Karna.
